Sound Semiconductor SSI2130 Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) (QFN-32)

 Loading product data...
The Sound Semiconductor FatKeys™ SSI2130 is an entirely new voltage controlled oscillator subsystem for high performance musical instruments. Buffered outputs include triangle, sawtooth, pulse with PWM control, and open collector square wave. An on-chip five channel mixer with linear control VCA’s sums triangle, saw, and pulse waveforms plus two independent auxiliary inputs into a single current output. Included is an on-chip temperature stable sine wave shaper which can support through-zero FM and PM with a few external components. Triangle and sawtooth waveforms are improved from prior generation VCO designs. Both hard and soft sync are supported.

Optional trims are provided for exponential scale and high frequency tracking that can be automated by CPU-calibrated systems. The SSI2130 requires minimal external components and is available in a compact 4x4mm QFN package.

The SSI2131 provides the same high performance VCO core in a convenient SOIC-16 package at a lower cost without the 5-channel mixer, OC square wave output, sine-wave generator, and through-zero FM/PM capability.

The DAB2130 is a hybrid DIL module that provides the SSI2130 VCO in a convenient through-hole DIL package, perfect for experimenters or prototype development.

Evaluation development boards are available fully populated (EVB2130R6-P) or as a bare board with just the 2130 installed (EVB2130R6-B).

The datasheet provides a wealth of design information and sample circuits.
